I know I’ve been watching the scale go down but I haven’t really FELT different. Until today. Just tried on a pair of jeans that were way too tight just a month ago and now they fit perfectly!! It’s the little things that make all the difference!
3rd Weigh In
Down another 3.2 pounds for a total of 13 pounds. I reached my 5% goal!!
Here I am...
drinking lots of water. If I have any water weight I want to get it off before I weigh in. Holy moly talk about a change in me. Before I couldn’t even imagine losing weight, let alone drinking enough water in a day to do even better! Weight Watchers is doing something right for me!! I’ll update later when I weigh in!

3 point cupcake!!
Take a box of any cake mix and add a can of any soda. Bake following the cake mix directions. The point values will vary…but the chocolate cake mix I made with diet Sierra Mist worked out to 3 points a cupcake. I topped one with some light cool whip. My husband didn’t know they weren’t regular cupcakes!
Weekends are hard...
I think the lack of a structured schedule makes staying on track really difficult. I think it was a good idea for my to change my weigh in day to Friday morning. I still have 35 weekly points left, so I don’t think I did TOO bad. Still, I have a wedding to go to today and who knows if there will be any healthy options. I’m also not very good about getting enough water in on the...
I weighed in and...
I’m down 9.8 pounds total!! Only a little over 3 to go until I reach my first goal!
Week 2 weigh in tomorrow...
My estimate is -10 total. I hope it’s correct!
I need lunch ideas...
I get SO sick of taking sandwiches to work for lunch. If anybody has ideas of other things I could bring, please feel free to share! Dairy is a no-no and it’s preferred to not have to be microwaved.
Another recipe to try... →
This one is for mini chocolate chip cookies that are just one point each.
It's all about portion control...
Breakfast: banana, medium decaf with 1 cream, 2 Splenda (0 points) Lunch: 6 inch tuna sub on white from Subway and applesauce (15 points)
Snack: strawberries with Splenda, 4 mini chocolate cookies , 8 oz skim milk (8 points)
Dinner: 2 chicken tenderloin, French fries, corn (16 points)
I'm very proud!
I had my first book club meeting tonight. There was yummy food right in front of my face (brownies, artichoke dip, cheese, crackers), and I did very well resisting. I only had one small brownie and one piece of cheese. Normally I would go to town and eat as much as I wanted, but I didn’t! Go me!

I love finding delicious things...
that are low in points! This is what I had for breakfast: 1/4 cup oatmeal with 1/2 cup water (microwave for 2.5 minutes) I added one packet of splenda and stirred in some ground cinnamon.
Tasty and only 2 points!

I’m so proud of myself. Today was a pretty rough day. I was kind of bored being home all day because of our snow day so I felt like eating. Normally I would just give in and eat everything I could get my hands on. Today, I stuck to the plan and didn’t eat more than my allowed 43 points. This is a major feat for me!! My willpower prevailed.
Made an AWESOME omelette for lunch!
And it was only 8 points. I took 2 large eggs and scrambled them up then poured them into a heated buttered pan. I cooked it until the bottom was firm then added one slice of American cheese, 2 slices of Hillshire farm honey ham, and about a half cup of steamed broccoli. I then folded it over…it was soooo good and filling! I wish I could eat like this on days I go to work (snow day today).
I'd like to recommend...
I’ve come across some pretty cool blogs during my time here on Tumblr. I must say that http://tarasweightloss.tumblr.com/ is one of my favorites. So check her out!
lindsaydoeslife asked: Hi Sara - Thank you so much for your question about the US/out of US buddy question! i can't believe i didn't even consider that! all of those that have signed up so far (as of 8:05 pm wed) are in the US. i'm going to make a change limiting it to only those in the US and repost the tumblr buddy post in a minute. Would you like to be added to the list???
Thinking of my grandparents...
Do not stand at my grave and weep I am not there. I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow. I am the diamond glints on snow. I am the sunlight on ripened grain. I am the gentle autumn rain. When you awaken in the morning’s hush I am the swift uplifting rush Of quiet birds in circled flight. I am the soft stars that shine at night. Do not stand at my grave and cry; I am not...
My big observation for work was today…and it went well! I have 29 points left for the day…so I’m planning on getting mashed potatoes at the diner downtown for dinner. I really love how motivating this point system is!!
I'm doing okay so far today I think...
First full day of Weight Watchers…I made my lunch ahead of time to figure out the points…I haven’t quite figured out how to spread them out across the day. So far I’ve had:
8 oz orange juice (breakfast) Lunch: ham and cheese sandwich on white bread with mustard string cheese Special K snack bar
Afternoon Snack: carrot sticks grapes light banana yogurt 10 almonds Snack...
I did it! I joined Weight Watchers. My first goal is to lose 13 pounds!
I’m 95% sure I’m going to join Weight Watchers. It’s very clear to me that doing it on my own isn’t working. I’ve tried using sparkpeople.com which is free…but counting calories wasn’t enough for me. I am going to work the cost into my budget because I know it’s important for me to lose weight to be healthier. Wish me luck!

A time for resolutions...
Every year I say I’m going to lose weight. Every year I fail. This year I’m not going to make that same mistake. This year I’m going to say I’m going to eat healthier. That might not lead to losing a lot of pounds, but I will call it a success if it makes me a better eater in the long run. I just don’t know what it will take to keep me motivated…

Dad: That's what she said.
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...
I woke up to snow covering things outside! That’s what it took to really get me into the Christmas spirit. There’s just something about a fresh layer of snow to make the world look beautiful. Then I went outside and of course complained about the cold!

A typical conversation...
Me: You're hot.
Husband: I know.
Me: No, like temperature hot.
Husband: I know, I'm a werewolf.
Me: Oh, that explains why you smell so bad...cuz I'm a vampire!

When filling out your holiday cards this year, take one card and send it to this address: A Recovering American Soldier c/o Walter Reed National Military Medical Center 8901 Rockville Pike Bethesda, Maryland 20889-5600…..If we pass this on and everyone sends one card, think of how many cards these wonderful, special people, who have sacrificed so much, would get. Pass this on!
