I set out again today with my ipod with Nike Plus and also my phone with Runkeeper. I’m trying to calibrate my Ipod. It seems to be getting a little more accurate, but definitely not perfect. I ran 1.01 miles. My calves got crampy so I walked for 5 minutes. Then I ran 1.08 miles. That’s a total of 2.09 miles and it took me 40:56 to complete. That is super slow! I’m still pretty impressed with myself. :-D
Part 1 (disregard the mile marker line):
The distance probably isn’t entirely accurate, but I jogged in place for the time shown (22:47). I used some weights in the beginning to work on my arms too. Going by my mile time last week though, this distance probably isn’t too far off.
So I went out today with my Ipod nano with the Nike Plus feature and also my cell phone with the Run Keeper app. Turns out my Ipod REALLY needed to be calibrated. It said I went 1.53 miles when I only went 1 mile. That’s assuming Run Keeper’s accuracy. I’m pretty disappointed by this. It was also a very slow day for me. It’s hot out there and I think I should have taken a rest day. Oh well, I did it and it’s over. I calibrated my Ipod and probably will use Run Keeper a couple more times to see how accurate it is. I guess I really need to measure distances on my road using some land marks or something…
So today I decided to set the distance thingy on my car (what’s it called?) and it was completely different than I expected. It’s now making me question the accuracy of Nike+ on my ipod nano. Maybe I didn’t really run 3 miles yesterday. That is sad. :-(
